About

About Gilgul Corporation

Gilgul Corporation is an IRS-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit public charity that conducts scholarly archaeological research and field work to explore biblical sites — and shares everything it finds, openly and freely.

What we do

We plan and lead archaeological and exploratory expeditions to sites of biblical and historical significance. Every expedition is undertaken with the express permission and cooperation of the local government and relevant heritage authorities.

Our scholars also research, write, publish, and sell modern English translations and commentaries on biblical and ancient documents — making primary texts accessible to students, pastors, and serious readers.

How we share it

Our findings are published as open-access field reports. We hold free workshops, write modern English translations and commentaries of ancient biblical documents, and produce printed editions whose proceeds fund the next dig.

How we're funded

Gilgul is funded entirely by the generosity of individual donors and the sale of our published books. Because we are a registered 501(c)(3) public charity, every donation is tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law and is acknowledged with an automatic email receipt.

Our principles

  • Permission first — always.
  • Open access — knowledge belongs to everyone.
  • Scholarship over spectacle.
  • Respect for the lands and traditions we visit.
